The two-time All-Star has embraced the villain role Knicks fans branded him with last postseason. <\/p>\n<p>The Tuesday matchup marked Young\u2019s first game back at the Garden since he blitzed the Knicks in the first round of\u00a0last\u00a0season\u2019s playoffs \u2013 and became the Mecca\u2019s latest enemy.<\/p>\n<p>Young dropped a career-high 45 points to go with eight assists, a single steal and a block in the Hawks win \u2014 his 25th career 40-point game. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><figcaption>Trae Young drives to the basket against the Knicks on March 22, 2022.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Jason Szenes\/New York Post<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Is there any current player more antagonistic to a fan base than Trey Young v New Yorkers? They can\u2019t guard me. They\u2019re not out there playing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Young said it\u2019s all about \u201cletting [his] play do the talking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Atlanta is in the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference, which would put them in the play-in tournament today. The play-in round begins April 12 and concludes April 15.
