The last matchup James played was on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Frank Vogel says LeBron James has returned to L.A. to begin treatment on his left knee. \u201cAs long as the swelling is there, he is going to be out,\u201d Vogel said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dave McMenamin (@mcten) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mcten\/status\/1487826202098343950?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 30, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>An MRI revealed that The King was dealing with \u201cgeneral swelling\u201d that did not come from a specific play on the road trip. Lakers Coach Frank Vogel stated that James could be ready to go by Wednesday when the Lakers host the Portland Trail Blazers per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9X1HzkjrAHA\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>With a season average of over 36 minutes per game which ranks him fourth in the NBA, the Chosen One has taken on a heavy workload as the Lakers\u2019 leading scorer and is second on the team in assists behind Russell Westbrook. James is second in the NBA in scoring, averaging 29.1 points per game, 7.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists but the Lakers and Coach Frank Vogel are looking to make life easier for James.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think about it every day,\u201d Vogel said about James. \u201cWe\u2019re always mindful of the load that he\u2019s carrying, in constant communication with him and the medical team. And in terms of what we do going forward with the knee and where he\u2019s at, it\u2019s really a heavy lean on the medical staff and [trainer] Mike Mancias and what they feel is best.
