Return of the giant: Manchester re-signs 7’1″ Legend Robertin for 2023/24 season

The Manchester Giants have confirmed the return of one of the most dominant big players in the British Basketball League as Head Coach Brian Semonian confirms the signing of 7’1” Legend Robertin for the 2023/24 season.

‍The veteran centre will suit up for his second season in the north-west after arriving at the Belle Vue last summer for his sophomore campaign in the British Basketball League. Robertin competed on British shores for the first time with the Surrey Scorchers in the 2021/22 season before his move to Manchester.

The London-born centre has sampled elite-level basketball all over Europe, competing in Italy’s Serie C and Slovakia’s Extraliga prior to his return to the UK. Robertin also completed a three-year collegiate career at the NCAA Division One level before embarking on his professional career, earning his stripes, and finessing his skillset with two years at Clemson and a further campaign at Nicholls State.

As powerful an interior presence as you’ll find in the British Basketball League, Robertin’s lateral and vertical quickness combined with his immense size have made him the focal point of many incredible highlight plays during his two years in the UK to date, and he’s sure to be at the heart of more memorable moments for Manchester in the coming season.

Speaking ahead of his return to the Giants under Coach Semonian’s leadership, Robertin said:

” I’m excited to run it back for a second time with the Giants! I’ve been working hard this summer and I’m ready to showcase my hard work in front of our amazing fans. Let’s go Giants!”

Giants Head Coach Brian Semonian added:

Legend is one of the physically strongest players I have ever seen. But what makes him extra is his ability and willingness to run the floor hard. A needed ‘space-eater’ who really thinks the game through.”

The Giants will discover their fixtures for the upcoming season’s campaign in the coming weeks. Keep up to date with fixtures and more via the British Basketball League website.
