Mavericks plan to add ex-NBA guard Marko Milič to Jason Kidd’s coaching staff, per report

The Dallas Mavericks might be getting a little more Slovenian flavor.

Dallas plans to hire former NBA guard Marko Milič to join Jason Kidd’s coaching staff in player development, according to a report from league insider Marc Stein.

Milič, who was the NBA’s first Slovenian player, has obvious ties to Mavs star Luka Doncic, a Slovenian native himself. He also played with Jason Kidd when he was on the Phoenix Suns from 1997-99. He appeared in 44 games during his lone NBA stint.

Earlier this offseason, the Mavs lost assistant coach Igor Kokoškov, another friend of Doncic, to the Brooklyn Nets.

Luka Doncic is an MVP favorite. Why are the Mavs projected to make the play-in tournament?
