Malik Monk talks about his season-high 29 points in win vs. Hawks

Lakers newcomer Malik Monk had season-high 29 points as his team defeated the Hawks at home. He started a strong shooting night, making 7 out of 12 three-pointers. It was just the 8th NBA career start for the 23-year-old shooting guard.

“Just letting the game come to me and not trying to force shots,” Monk said after the win. “And just play the right way then the ball would come to me to find me. But I just spaced the floor well for Russ and Bron in a starting group and then everybody else started packing the lane after they started getting in the lane and stuff and that’s when they find me and I get my shots.”

This season Monk is averaging 11.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 25.6 minutes per game for Los Angeles.
