With 3:52 minutes left to play in the fourth quarter and the Lakers trailing the Pacers by 7 points Frank Vogel decided to substitute Russell Westbrook with Malik Monk.
The former NBA MVP sat on the bench till the end of the game as Los Angeles lost to Indiana (104-111). Vogel was asked postgame about his decision to not play Westbrook in final minutes of the fourth quarter.
“Playing the guys I thought were going to win the game,” was Vogel’s short response. Russ had 14 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists in 27 minutes of play.
