Cavs’ Rajon Rondo still willing to play at high level

Rajon Rondo joined the Cleveland Cavaliers after a trade from the Los Angeles Lakers and wants to make the difference for his new team.

The veteran guard had a limited role with the Lakers. Yet, he admitted he still wants to compete at a high level and have a significant role in Cleveland.

“I still want to compete at a high level. I’m still a competitive person. I was fine in LA. But, at the same time, for my mental sake, I do think I will be a lot happier because I do like to compete and be involved.

And here I will get an opportunity. It’s all about perspective. I always look at things a couple of different ways. But for me, personally, I wasn’t going crazy on the bench over there. But, I was itching to play and have more of an impact,” Rajon Rondo told Marc Spears of The Undefeated.

In 939 games in his 16-year NBA career, Rajon Rondo is averaging 9.8 points, 8.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds.
